We seek a Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Administrator to join our team.  In this position you will perform a wide range of Human Resource functions within the company, including payroll, benefits administration, recruiting and onboarding. You will also support the organization in various HR initiatives, policies, procedures and programs. This position reports to the CFO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Payroll & Benefits

  • Perform payroll processing for 80+ employees (data entry, research and reconciliation, records maintenance, and associated reporting)
  • Manage relationship and review filings from third party payroll processor.
  • Report labor utilization and other analyses to management
  • Manage benefit administration including renewal and open enrollment process, distribution of benefit information to employees, and administration of employee information in benefit portals and vendor websites
  • Maintains employee personnel/confidential files and related applications

Recruiting

  • Coordinates recruiting efforts as requested: posting open positions, communicating with recruiters, evaluation of applications/resumes, reference checks, and completion of pre-employment screening and new hire paperwork
  • Coordinates on-boarding process and introduces new employees to the company through orientation on key processes, benefits and other company policies and guidelines

General

  • Develop and propose improvements to company policies, programs and procedures, researching best practices and industry standards; to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
  • Act as resource to supervisors about company policies and procedures; and assisting them in their interpretation and application
  • Help establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Ensure HR activities are compliant with state and federal regulations, remaining current on HR-related compliance issues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT 

  • BS Degree in human resources or related business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, in areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and legal compliance
  • 1+ years Payroll processing experience
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS software, and Internet research
