SF&C Associates (SF&C) seeks an experienced Sales/Business Development Representative to establish, maintain and develop relationships with large Union-based groups throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for the purpose increasing voluntary benefits participation.  Based in Owings Mills, SF&C provides third party administrator (combined billing) services for voluntary benefits as a liaison between employee groups and carriers. http://www.sfandc.com

Position Overview

Union Business Development Representative will help grow the base of the organization by working with unions to add additional members through value-added insurance and non-insurance benefits. https://www.sfandc.com

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin preferred, or equivalent work experience as substitute
  • 3+ years of experience working with insurance products
  • Experience demonstrating or selling consulting services in a business to union environment
  • Ability to explain third-party administrator function and capabilities. Experience with TPA helpful
  • Familiarity with insurance benefits, particularly voluntary benefits
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance terms and operation, some of which will ideally have been with a similarly-situated organization
  • Proven team player with ability to work with all levels of business functions
  • Local travel within the region for prospect and client visits and events required

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to analyze market and financial data and prepare reports and projections.
  • Experience presenting information to non-professionals in a clear, organized manner
  • Ability to close sales and complete projects with appropriate follow through
  • Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
