North Point Builders of MD, LLC is seeking an experienced construction Superintendent to manage field operations for commercial projects ranging up to $15 million including onsite planning, organization, and work control to ensure timely completion of projects at the highest level of quality and by the most cost-effective means.  This will be an exceptional opportunity to work with a collaborative team of respected and dedicated construction professionals while supporting projects that help make a positive difference throughout the Baltimore community.  

Our Opportunity

As one of our Superintendents, your job will be to manage the daily job site activities and help us guarantee our commitment to building the right way by maintaining or improving the project schedule.  Your responsibilities will vary depending on the scope and magnitude of each project, but will usually include the following:

  • Managing relationships with clients, design team, internal project team, subcontractors and inspectors.
  • Managing the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor, maintaining close control over the accuracy and quality for each work activity.
  • Leading and mentoring other employees.
  • Developing detailed project logistics plan
  • Taking direct responsibility for developing and managing project specific safety plan. Safety is a priority at North Point Builders.
  • Ensuring work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications and local building codes
  • Enforcing a quality control plan and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Developing the project flow while maintaining project master and 2-week outlook schedules
  • Conducting subcontract meetings to discuss job progress and safety
  • Coordinating material deliveries
  • Maintaining project documentation to include daily reports and jobsite progress photos.
  • Maintaining a current, complete set of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications and related items.
  • Maintaining a complete set of as-built documents
  • Identifying and reporting problems or deficiencies to the Project Manager. Documenting on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance to project and contract requirements.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in reviewing change orders prior to execution, approve miscellaneous purchases, and review subcontract agreements. Maintaining close control over the budget for each work activity.

Our Requirements

If you're the right one for us, you'll have five (5) to ten (10) years of commercial general construction experience. A degree in project management, construction management, engineering or related field is preferred. You must have a working knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook and a proficiency in MS Project preferred.

Mostly importantly, you will be someone who will embrace our core values of collaboration, communication and integrity. You must have excellent communication skills, be well respected by the subcontractor community, be able to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
