Position Summary:

Port Discovery Children's Museum is looking for a responsible and energetic individual to be our full-time Assistant Guest Services Supervisor. The Supervisor assists in the operation of the museum with a special focus on Museum operations and training. The AGSS will work in conjunction with Guest Services management to create a positive working environment for all Guest Services staff. Assist in the supervision of a staff of up to 30 Program Associates by conducting "rounds" and mentoring employees in their overall training in the Museum. Although no employees will directly report to this position, the AGSS must maintain working knowledge of all Guest Services staff for the purpose of mentoring and coaching them for success. Acts as an advocate for guests and their specific exhibit experience. Works with Guest Services management to create an ideal environment for guests of all ages to learn interact and enjoy a safe and fun Museum experience.

This is a full time 40-hour per week position. Works a very flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed. Non-operating hours may be necessary to meet hourly requirements.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication required.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or in an education setting a plus.
  • Special consideration will be given to people with management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly encouraged.
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
