Our client, Interos Solutions (Interos), a management consulting firm located in Alexandria, Virginia, is looking for a Business Development Lead  to join their team.

Interos' capabilities cover a broad range of technical services, including enterprise information technology solutions (IT), Cybersecurity and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), network security, integrated logistics support (ILS), and training/education support. Interos assists its clients in strategic planning and assessment services that generate measurable performance and cost avoidance as well as ensure security, specifically in enterprise IT systems and supply chain infrastructure.

Position Summary

Identify, qualify, and prosecute a threetofive-year business opportunity pipeline within the federal marketplace aligning with Interos' revenue and profit growth strategies. Leverage federal government and commercial business development experience and demonstrate and operate strategically at the enterprise level, including department and agencylevel senior executives. Leverage successful experience across the business development life cycle, from opportunity identification through proposal submission, for all capabilities and solutions, particularly for largescale technology opportunities. Leverage excellent industry relationships with competitors, niche capability firms, and small businesses into capture efforts to result in a track record of wins. Lead and facilitate the development, delivery, and presentation of whitepapers and drive technical and acquisition client call plans and other outreach efforts to qualify and inform bid and no bid decisions. Work as an integrated team member across account leadership teams in a highly collaborative and teamcentric culture within a matrixed organization where collaboration and a teamcentric culture are paramount for success.

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • BA or BS degree required; MA or MS degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a business development role, achieving annual revenue and sales targets at a major federal government contractor focused on technology services sales
  • Experience with the entire business development cycle, from identification through proposal submission and execution of post submission evaluation notices (ENs), to contract award
  • Documented success in leading capture and proposal teams as a prime bidder
  • Experience writing winning proposal content
  • Experience preparing compliant cost volumes
  • Experience with demonstrating client relationships at one or more of the federal departments or agencies and leveraging these relationships for opportunity wins
  • Knowledge of the US government's acquisition process and engaging with csuite level executives
  • Ability to work in a crossfunctional, multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to coordinate, collaborate, and lead without oversight responsibly
  • Ability to work as a member of an integrated account and opportunity capture team within a matrixed organization

 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Experience with commercial sales and commercial consulting
  • Knowledge of government service with one or more of federal departments or agencies
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills in both public speaking and written formats
  • Possession of excellent analytical skills
