The Washington Institute for Near East Policy is a nonpartisan think tank focused on advancing a balanced and realistic understanding of American interests in the Middle East. We currently are seeking a Bookkeeper to add to our Finance Department in our downtown Washington DC office.

Responsibilities

The Bookkeeper will provide basic accounting support to the Finance staff, including assistance with accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts and payroll. They will be responsible for training staff on various financial procedures such as travel and business expense reporting. They will assist the Operations Manager and CFO with vendor proposals. The Bookkeeper will also provide administrative support to the Finance department, the Operations Manager and HR with clerical duties such as filing, scanning and mailing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least an Associate's degree and some experience in bookkeeping and administrative support in an office setting. The Bookkeeper must be detail oriented and very organized, and adept at managing the demands of multiple departments.  The candidate must have experience working with Excel spreadsheets.
