BioFortis is a Columbia, MD-based software company focused on improving precision medicine by solving challenges in today's data intensive bioresearch environments. Our primary product is an enterprise platform for clinical research and biological sample data management.  We are looking for a Project Manager who is self-motivated, and thrives on new challenges.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager applies professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project teams and controls project schedule, cost, quality, and performance risks to ensure satisfied customers. This role has responsibility for all assigned projects and manages customer satisfaction, definition, planning, monitoring, and others aspects of a project. This role is assigned projects with significant, direct client interaction.

 PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop thorough understanding of and communicate stakeholder requirements to appropriate team members, and manage all project requirements to realize each for the stakeholder.
  • Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide timely and ongoing feedback.
  • Coordinate and facilitate delivery of project objectives.
  • Manage project team activities.
  • Track progress and review project tasks to make certain deadlines are met appropriately.
  • Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer goals.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, developing alternative solutions as needed.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholder's needs and requirements continuously in view.
  • Collaborate with software development staff, software testing and quality assurance teams, and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between BioFortis and its stakeholders are precise.

PROJECT MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. Master's Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Industry certifications are favorably viewed.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in the software industry.
  • Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, scientific research and/or pharmaceutical industries are a plus.
  • PMP Certification a plus
