Reporting to the Chief Program & Content Officer, the Sr. Director Digital Products RIF's digital product portfolio.

Senior Director, Digital Products Essential Duties

Product Development

  • Manage and grow RIF's product pipeline of digital products distributed to schools, libraries, and centers.
  • Develop RIF's digital and content strategy.
  • Keep a current roadmap of all digital development.
  • Manage the book-based products and curriculum team and continually look for ways to integrate these components into RIF's overall digital strategy.         
  • Manage external digital development teams.
  • Ensure that all digital products address RIF's mission pillars.
  • Develop and manage a Content Management System for use with all RIF products, whether external or internal.
  • Stay current on trends in children's publishing as it relates to developing digital educational resources.
  • Be an advocate for children's literacy by developing relevant digital products that promote literacy.

Board of Directors

  • Ensure that board members are kept up-to-date on all new digital product releases, including sending sample products to them for their evaluation.
  • Soliciting feedback from board members on current and future digital products.


  • 7-10 years' experience;
  • Strong background in all aspects of product development;
  • Strong experience in developing digital products, especially education-focused products;
  • Strong experience managing complex vendor relationships;
  • Experience managing processes;
  • Experience with content management;
  • Experience in project budgeting and project management;
  • Experience in K-12 education highly desirable.


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Senior Director, Digital Products Skills/Abilitites Required:

  • Strong project management skills to manage projects and teams from concept to tracking;
  • Ability to analyze findings and translate those findings into product and service recommendations;
  • Ability to motivate and engage a network of affiliated programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with institutions, vendors and consultants;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and project management skills;
  • Ability to travel;
  • A creative team member with an ability to work collaboratively;
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work productively under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Self-motivated to work with new initiatives in online professional development.
