Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Baltimore City, P-C provides Construction Management, General Contracting and Design/Build construction services in the Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware areas. For 17 years, P-C has focused on providing great customer service to clients.  Our growth has created great opportunities for leaders in each functional area:  we are looking for future Chief Estimators who will provide Pre-Construction leadership and support our Project Executives who have full P&L responsibility. 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with solid experience managing small and large projects. The Senior Estimator duties will include RFP proposal responses, conceptual budgeting, CM trade package bidding and lump sum bidding situations to be delivered under various construction delivery methods. This position will be responsible for responding to an RFP from inception through final submission.  In addition they will need to be comfortable with client interaction, including explaining the pricing and overall approach to the project. 

We are adding new staff, raising the expectations of our existing team.  Our culture requires great leadership in all functions, including Estimating and Pre-Construction. 

The position is available immediately and is based in Baltimore, Maryland.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction management discipline
  • Comprehensive experience estimating for commercial and institution construction projects
  • Experience using Timberline
  • A leadership and strategic mindset


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position requires a highly professional and organized individual who can work in a fast paced construction business environment, effectively manage multiple projects and mentor others. 

The Senior Estimator will consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments and construction field personnel to discuss and formulate estimates for projects to be delivered under various construction delivery methods. The responsibilities include:

  • Managing bidding/budgeting project documentation
  • Provide a detailed estimate from take-off (Plain swift), summarized in Timberline
  • Provide bid tabs for all trade packages
  • Provide final price based on subcontractor pricing
  • Keep bid/budget information in binders for all projects from last 5 years
  • Look for edges and approaches to get project
  • Understand subcontractor market and which sub is good for which job
  • Manage master specific scopes of work
  • Work with PM to write / modify / collaborate on specific scopes of work
  • Keep Timberline estimating/explorer job information up to date
  • Provide monthly historic and current project reports at Estimating meeting
  • Provide end of year report on all projects receiving a job number
  • Manage estimate databases Standard, Master Format & GC & Fee
  • Keep an up-to-date Estimate template in excel for PM use
