The HVAC Service Supervisor will provide supervision and technical support to the technicians working within their area and ensure quality workmanship.
Principle Goals and Responsibilities
- Coaches, reviews, supervises and makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees.
- Maintains effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Works with General Manager in implementing Service Department goals within budget.
- Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge Coordinates and resolves interdepartmental issues.
- Asist Salespeople with material and labor estimates.
- Works with Dispatcher to ensure that service calls are performed in a timely manner with limited impact on the client.
- Keep dispatcher advised of needs and discuss performance of technicians
- Carry out quality checks on work performed by technicians and report deficiencies to the General Manager.

- Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.
- Initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
- Interprets policies to assigned personnel and enforces safety regulations and adherence to proper codes and standards.
- Accountability and Standards

- Make sure services vehicles are clean and presentable to the market. Clean exterior and interior
- Make sure Technicians are clean and presentable to the clients.
- Drive service work thru professionalism.
- Recommends or initiates action involving promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, and motivation of employees.
- Maintains records and files, including the approval of time cards and absences, and submits as required.
- Trains and instructs employees in new methods or procedures.
- Maintains responsibility for the correct stock levels of repair or replacement parts.
- Inspects work in process to insure its completion within allotted time limits and for acceptable quality standards.
- Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance.
HVAC Service Supervisor Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
- Knowledge of budgetary practices and principles.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Skill in operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
- Skill in estimating time and materials.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Skill in applying supervisory techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten years of progressively responsible HVAC/refrigeration equipment installation, repair, and maintenance experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Must have strong skillset in commercial HVAC products, installation, and mechanical understanding.
- Strong understanding of HVAC functions.
- Strong leadership skills and work ethic is a must.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional initiative, execution and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills.
