Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is seeking a Digital Content Associate with a passion for children's literacy to join our digital products team. The Digital Content Associate will work with children's literacy experts and advocates at Reading Is Fundamental to ensure reliable, dynamic content is continually supported throughout RIF's digital portfolio to support RIF's mission.

As part of the digital products team, the Digital Content Associate will support the digital team with planning, managing, uploading, and publishing content to RIF's digital products portfolio and assists in promoting RIF's mission, brand, and digital product initiatives through a wide range of digital strategies. The Digital Content Associate works closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to leverage RIF's digital footprint and maximize our impact.

The successful candidate will have experience working collaboratively with cross-departmental teams that support a culture of literacy and deliver collective impact.


  • Become an expert in the content and functionality of RIF's portfolio of digital properties designed to reach children and literacy advocates in a variety of platforms including:, Literacy Central, Literacy Network, and Skybrary - RIFs consumer and classroom-based eBook platform available via iOS and the web.
  • Own all aspects of content collection and implementation across RIF's sites and applications in collaboration with programs, marketing, and product teams.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content for web pages, applications, new media, and other forms of communication ensuring consistency in style, tone, branding and quality.
  • Work within a CMS (Drupal 7 & 9) to create, update, and implement web-based content utilizing a ticketing system.
  • Work with designers and developers to add custom content to RIF's Skybrary eBook Platform, including assisting with securing and maintaining eBook publisher agreements.
  • Actively contribute to the continued growth and innovation of RIF's sites and applications.
  • Work closely with designers and writers to build timelines for content deliverables.
  • Perform updates to site and application email messaging.
  • Assist in QA and auditing of content and functionality for sites and applications.
  • Work with others across the organization in capturing and compiling user experience feedback on RIF's sites and applications for presentation to the digital products team for review.
  • Assist in the reporting of metrics across RIF's digital properties using Google Analytics.
  • Help develop and maintain processes and written documentation.
  • Support the ongoing efforts of other content contributors as assigned.


  • 1-2 years' experience managing web content
  • Working knowledge of the Drupal CMS (7 & 9)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web page creation
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with content management
  • Experience in K-12 education or consumer-based children's products desirable
  • Experience using a CRM solution (Salesforce preferred)
  • Experience using ticketing system to track and resolve issues


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.


  • Passionate about exceptional web experiences and content management, bringing new ideas to the table
  • A self-starter; able to act autonomously and anticipate/highlight project needs
  • Organized and able to create documentation
  • Able to manage multiple projects through cross-functional teams
