We are seeking a talented, self-starter for a HVAC Service Manager position to serve our ever-growing customer base. The Service Manager will be an experienced, career minded professional with a successful track record in running a service team. The Service Manager will assist in growing new business and developing strong customer relationships by providing in depth solutions and strong partner relationships aligning with our core competencies.

Principle Goals and Responsibilities

  • Hires, coaches, reviews, supervises, and terminates assigned employees, and makes effective recommendations regarding the employment status of assigned employees.
  • Develops and maintains effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Implements Service Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectives.
  • Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge
  • Coordinates and resolves interdepartmental issues.
  • Reviews all management reports necessary to audit the performance of department and individual employees Hold departmental meetings on a regular basis
  • Complete any other job duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists Salespeople with material and labor estimates.
  • Works with Dispatchers to ensure that service calls are performed in a timely manner with limited impact on the client.
  • Keep dispatcher advised of needs and discuss performance of technicians
  • Carry out quality checks on work performed by technicians and report deficiencies to the General Manager.
  • Drive service work through proper preventive maintenance.
  • Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment.
  • Initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
  • Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget; assists in the preparation of operations budgets.
  • Interprets policies to assigned personnel and enforces safety regulations and adherence to proper codes and standards.
  • Accountability and Standards
    • Make sure you are accountable to your team - Accountability starts with leadership, i.e. You
    • Make sure services vehicles are clean and presentable to the market. Clean exterior and interior
    • Make sure Technicians are clean and presentable to the clients.
  • Drive service work excellence thru professionalism.
  • Recommends or initiates action involving promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, and motivation of employees.
  • Maintains records and files, including the approval of timecards and absences, and submits as required.
  • Trains and instructs employees in new methods or procedures.
  • Maintains responsibility for the correct stock levels of repair or replacement parts.
  • Inspects work in process to insure its completion within allotted time limits and for acceptable quality standards.
  • Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance.

Requirements

  • Ten years of progressively responsible HVAC/refrigeration equipment installation, repair, and maintenance experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must have strong skillset in commercial HVAC products, installation, and mechanical understanding
  • Strong understanding of HVAC functions
  • Strong leadership skills and work ethic is a must
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Exceptional initiative, execution and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong skillset of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Skill in estimating time and materials.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Sage
