Entry Level Accounts Receivable Job Opportunity

Are you interested in accounting, have recently graduated, or are working toward your accounting degree? If so, we have a great entry level opportunity. A&L Foods, in suburban Baltimore Maryland, has a full-time opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist. If you enjoy working with people, like variety in your work, have an eye for detail, can work independently, and enjoy a fast-paced environment you will be a great fit for us. A typical day will involve calling customers to obtain information and coordinate the flow of sales orders, or you may need to focus for timely and accurate processing of invoices and customer payments, and you may need to switch gears to resolve issues, call customers, and follow up on payment discrepancies. If you have excellent computer skills, are skilled at maintaining data on web-based applications, are a self-starter, customer service oriented, and accurate, this may be the role for you!

Some of what you will be doing as an Accounts Receivable Specialist include:

  • Daily invoicing.
  • Reconcile, balance, and post invoices daily.
  • Research invoicing and payment discrepancies and past-due amounts for assigned accounts with the assistance of Manager and other staff.
  • Draft correspondence for past-due accounts and collection; identify delinquent accounts by reviewing accounts and call delinquent accountholders for payment.
  • Prepare reports regarding current account status, use resources effectively, arrange information and files in an orderly manner and meet deadlines.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Other duties as needed.

What You Need:

  • High school diploma/GED and 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong math, analytical and Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and Microsoft accounting software. Experience with web-based applications is a plus.
  • Superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent detail-orientation, accuracy, and organization skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
