About the Mission:

Insurance Benefits Marketing Agent needed to join our team for the mission of marketing voluntary benefits to Union municipal workers groups in the greater Baltimore, DC and Virginia areas. We will provide training and tools to execute specific strategical and tactical tasks in order to achieve benchmarks and operational goals.  With the ultimate goal of positively impacting lives and peace of mind of our community members and families, you will have the opportunity to both collaborate and compete with teammates in achieving the sales unit's common objectives. This is a full-time salaried position with additional individual bonus potential.  SF&C has been a leader in selling annuities, life insurance and disability products since 1981, and also provides third party administration services.    

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have at minimum a high school diploma, with 1-3 years of work in a customer-facing or service environment; military service member and veteran experience is welcome.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with sales and/or insurance experience, although neither is required for the position.
  • History of regular employment or commitment showing increasing progression of skills and responsibilities.
  • Life and Health insurance license is required; however; company will provide training time to prepare and take the test to obtain license, if needed.
  • Goal-driven and focused attitude.
  • A history of practicing well-organized and detail-oriented habits.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadline.
  • Critical thinking, ability to recognize problems, potential needs, and provide solutions.
  • Team-oriented and professional attitude to interact at all levels of the company and with prospects.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills in dealing with internal and external contacts.
  • Self-driven proactively seeks information and solutions and closes loops.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology communications tools and software
  • Ability to travel throughout local area for client and prospect calls
