We are seeking a Case Manager (Data Processing/Life Insurance) with experience or interest in Life Insurance or related financial industries, to function as a liaison between agents and underwriters by reviewing new applications, following up on outstanding requirements, and engaging in ongoing communication with agents, vendors and clients.   If you are organized, detail-oriented and are a proactive thinker who takes initiative to solve problems, this might be the job for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Case Manager will assist in processing and evaluating submitted life insurance policies as part of life settlements transactions by: 

  • Initiating submitted applications in Maple Life's CaseTrack database system.
  • Independently managing and reviewing application package for completeness, and performing initial compliance review which includes policy applications and other necessary documentation.
  • Determining case eligibility with respect to purchase criteria by following specific purchase parameters set up by management.
  • Recording info from file and updating administrative system and other databases with pertinent data.
  • Ordering and processing of underwriting requirements including standard medicals, APS (Attending Physicians Statements) and third party underwriting reports.
  • Managing workflow in order to optimize processing time.
  • Communicating and obtaining necessary documentation from brokers, producers and vendors for efficient processing in underwriting, pricing and closing procedures. This may include generating correspondence related to underwriting decisions and requirements.
  • Following up on outstanding pertinent requirements i.e. medical records, HIPAA form, Illustrations etc.
  • Handling periodic calls / e-mails regarding case status. This requires some customer service skills and relationship management.
  • Maintaining daily records of communication with brokerage partners via e-mails and CaseTrack.
  • Relaying broker communications and/or questions to appropriate parties (if necessary).
  • Supporting the sales team in the effort to provide our customers and distribution channels with superior service.
  • Working with third party service vendors in order to maintain maximum efficiency per case.
  • Maintaining positive and productive relationships with all persons in contact with MLF regarding submitted business.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or related degree (i.e., Economics, Computer Science) OR one (1) year of equivalent work experience.  Qualified applicants must have a background in data entry and analytical thinking. They must also possess the ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, and proficiency in MS Excel. Our ideal candidate will also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to correspond with parties at various levels including clients and potential clients.  Life insurance knowledge and/or experience a plus but not required.
