Our client, a trade association, located in Washington, DC has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Director of Information Technology.  You will be responsible for oversight of all IT operations, including development of IT Strategy in support of the business objectives, IT policies, procedures, security protocols, and disaster recovery plans.  If you are our ideal candidate, you can demonstrate your know-how of non-profits and understanding of complex business relationships, able to evaluate practices and seek to develop solutions that achieve the organization's goals, and are capable of maintaining positive forward momentum.

As Director of Information Technology, you'll develop and maintain a 2-year strategic IT plan, which includes; evaluating, developing, and coordinating the IT Systems needed to support our trade association's objectives.  You will work closely with decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support technology solutions for all aspects of the association. 

You will also manage the IT department operations, to include the business requirements, project planning, to organize and negotiate resource allocation (vendor contracts, service agreements, outsourced consultants, etc.), and direct network support, telecommunications, and other IT functions. You will be responsible to develop and implement IT policies and procedures including architecture, standards, purchasing, service provisions, security, and disaster recovery plans. 

You will use your skills and abilities to facilitate communications, both internally and externally, to promote an exchange of information, present new approaches, and relay information on equipment or system changes, as well as to promote awareness of the importance of data to the business intelligence infrastructure.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology or related field, and a least 5 years of IT experience in a non-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise (expert-level) with reporting software (Crystal Reports, SSRS, Tableau), Transact SQL, Microsoft Office, and other software and technology tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency (advanced) with Windows Server software and configurations; working knowledge of Active Directory and management of users and computer accounts
  • Demonstrated expertise with Association Management Systems, non-profit accounting systems, and/or web content management systems.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and demonstrated ability of leadership in developing a collective strategic vision
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to present ideas, communicating to all levels of management and leadership.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel, and work extended hours, which may include nights and weekends.
