Assist the Project Manager with planning and daily execution of the construction project.  Responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager, by managing the process of submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, maintaining schedules and budgets. 

Project Engineers are integral members of the project teams. They work closely with project managers, superintendents and subcontractors with primary responsibilities that include cost management and quality control. 


Preconstruction / Estimating Services

  • Assists the project managers with budgeting and estimating by performing quantity takes offs; helps build estimates and solicits subcontractors for pricing to generate interest in projects.
  • Maintains understanding of plans and specifications of subcontractor's work and issues drawing changes for pricing; Compares bids, reviews and issues subcontractor change orders.
  • Maintains awareness of Owner commitments and informs subcontractor accordingly.
  • Assist with Value Engineering services, constructability reviews and site logistics planning.
  • Identifies and schedules critical path items including all required permits, MDE requirements, zoning or other variances, etc., and other entitlements as pre-requisites to beginning construction.

Project Engineering and Document Control

  • Responsible for all project documentation including preparing transmittals; develops and maintains job logs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Monitors logs and maintains awareness of critical items needed from subcontractors and architects.
  • Reviews accuracy and legitimacy of subcontractor pricing prior to submission to Owner.
  • Generates clean and concise meeting minutes; delegates responsibilities or action items and follows up.

Cost & Schedule Control

  • Assists the Project Manager with cost control and schedule control by reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices, creating a schedule of values, and creating and updating the project schedule.

Project Close-Out

  • Leads project close-out and close-out documentation, including preparing as-built drawings.
  • Scheduling equipment start-ups and demonstrations; compiles O&M Manuals.
  • Manages punch list completion.


  • Maintains awareness of and complies with P-C's Safety Program and Policies.

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in construction industry with Associates Degree in Construction Management.
